About Sun Hours for Solar Panels

Will your panels generate anything today? Sun Hours tells you in 8 seconds — just your ZIP/postal code or map pin and your best-ever solar day. No inverter login. No azimuth. No account. No engineering degree.

THE FORECAST

Today's expected kWh before your coffee is ready. An hour-by-hour generation curve shows exactly when your panels peak. Get a 7-day solar forecast with cloud cover and efficiency for each day, plus a 30-day view built from historical weather at your exact location — so you understand your site's full seasonal rhythm, not just this week.

SOL

Every morning, Sol — Sun Hours' pixel-art sun mascot — delivers a personal forecast for your panels before you've touched a chart. When today's forecast matches your all-time best generation day, Sol sends a notification: "It's a 100% day." The solar equivalent of a perfect score.

SUN HOURS ALERTS

Optional morning notifications tell you the day's best two-hour solar window. "Best window today: 11 AM–1 PM." Charge the EV, run the dishwasher, or power another appliance with your own free electricity instead of the grid.

SMART APPLIANCE TIMER

Tell Sun Hours which appliances you use. It tells you exactly when to run each one during your solar peak. Washer, dishwasher, dryer, EV top-up — scheduled around your free generation, not your habits.

TRAVEL MODE

Portable panels on an RV? Camping with a folding kit? Drop a pin anywhere or use GPS to get a solar forecast for that exact location. One tap takes you back to your home setup.

WORKS WITH EVERYTHING

Hoymiles, Deye, Marstek, Envertech, APS, Solis, Growatt — and every other rooftop or plug-in setup. No inverter integration needed. If it generates kWh, Sun Hours can forecast it.

ON IPAD AND MAC

The dashboard opens out into two columns on iPad, so today and the week ahead sit side by side rather than stacked, with the animated sky running edge to edge behind a frosted glass toolbar. The forecast accuracy grid uses the extra width and labels each month. It runs on an M-series Mac too.

Free to use. Infrequent, closable ads. No account. No tracking. Your location never leaves your device.

Built in the UK for solar owners everywhere — by someone who got tired of apps making a simple question complicated.
